Quincy Ledbetter is a filmmaker specializing in directing and writing narrative films and television. His determination and resourcefulness in crafting innovative stories have led audiences to describe his work as unlike anything they’ve seen before.

Quincy wrote, directed, and composed the score for his feature film debut, ALIEU THE DREAMER, released in 2020 through BET Films and Paramount Players. His follow-up, THE BLACK DISQUISITION, a rotoscope-animated short, won numerous accolades, including Best Animated Film and Best Director. The film was exhibited at several museums, including the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle, and was distributed by Black Public Media. His latest film, BRAND NEW, has screened at multiple Academy-qualifying film festivals, including HollyShorts, Urbanworld, and the Austin Film Festival. Among numerous nominations, the film won the Audience Award for International Narrative Short at the ShortShorts Film Festival in Tokyo, Japan. Quincy has also excelled as a documentary filmmaker for esteemed organizations such NPR, Time, Vox Media, and the New York Times, among others.

In 2024, Quincy was honored with an induction into the DGA’s Director Development Initiative Mentorship Program, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of television directors.

Quincy and his partner, Yuki Maekawa-Ledbetter, co-founded ML-NEBULA, a production company focused on creating a safe and open environment for filmmakers and artists to thrive, dedicated to changing the paradigm of the entertainment industry.
